Life in the town is documented in the exhibition entitled “From pasture to town" at the Eslöv Town Museum. This describes how the village of Eslöv changed when the first railway station was created on the fringes of the village. Trade, enterprise and a pioneering spirit characterised life in the little community by the station, which was rapidly transformed from a farming village into a modern community.
Eslöv´s new town museum was officially opened in the autumn of 2000, and can be found at Östergatan 5 in a merchant´s house that dates back to 1892. The house, which was once built by the timber trader Nils Bengtsson, has been carefully renovated. This renovation also included the garden, which has been transformed into a true oasis in the heart of the town. You will also find a well-stocked second-hand bookshop here.
